Jesse Auersalo Biography:
Jesse Auersalo's images are often dark and intimidating but the attention to detail and meticulous rendering contrast to create strong iconic imagery that can shock and fascinate in equal measure. Jesse Auersalo compares his work to cooking a sweat and sour dish or discovering salt liquorice in a bag full or marshmallows. It's the dynamic that gives the bitter or sweet its potency.
Jesse Auersalo is fascinated by redefining the mundane and finds continual inspiration in the disposable things he surrounds himself with. If the test of a great image is one that you remember, then Jesse has the ability to create outstanding works and is poised to become a leading and influential talent in the years to come.

Romain Gavras—son of celebrated filmmaker Costa-Gavras—has followed in his father’s footsteps and has quickly made an impressive stamp. Last year, he helmed the controversial video for M.I.A.‘s “Born Free” and made his directorial debut with his equally disturbing “Our Day Will Come.” He’s returned, this time with something a lot more mainstream, but still displaying his signature style.
Gavras has taken the reigns on a new spot for Adidas that features a bevy of celeb cameos/appearances including Katy Perry, Lionel Messi, David Beckham, BoB and more. Oh yeah, that thumping soundtrack? It’s the track “Civilization” by French outfit Justice who have a new album dropping next month. They also recently scored the arthouse horror fave “Rubber.” It’s a pretty nifty little clip, that mixes the exuberance of these kinds of spots with Gavras’ penchant for random bursts of uneasy violence or unrest, yet somehow, it all flows pretty naturally.

Korine’s sixteen-minute short brings the audience to the fringes of society where Ninja and Yo Landi of Die Antwoord star as wheelchair-bound gangsters. Residing in the outskirts of civilization, Ninja and Yo Landi play trigger-happy, gun-toting misfits who bond throughout the film by sharing cartoonishly huge joints, sticking-up business owners, and seeking refuge and shelter in the woods. It is a tale of love and the struggle for survival.
