Top 10 April 16

As usual I got a couple of jems for you all, but before you peak through my Top 10, do the right thing and stand up for the man inside of you, doesn't matter if you are a woman or a pre-teen, just dig up that manhood of yours and vote for my Man-Tee on Threadless.com

Then if you want to punish me for the hassle... feel free to get right back at me HERE
It's a small challenge i set up for myself, much like Julie & Julia i will cook my way through the worst cookbook ever "Microwave Cooking for One", if i get enough people following that blog.

Well that's pretty much me and my week, enjoy my Top 10.

1. Brosmind Army

Older> Brosmind Army is a personal project created by the Mingarro brothers and consists in a growing army of limited edition ceramic sculptures. The army is divided in several Platoons of 50 soldiers, distinguished by a particular kind of hat. Each soldier it's a unique character with its own face, tatoo and accesories. Also, turning the hat of the soldier is possible to switch between three different face designs.

The CANOTIERS are the first Platoon of the powerful Brosmind Army and will be on exhibition in Barcelona until next 16 of April in the gallery Otrascosasdevillarrosas.

2. Nathan Manire

Illustrator Nathan Manire was originally in Detroit but is now based in New York City. He has recently developed a new technique using watercolor to create a pixelated look that I would imagine requires a fair bit of patience to accomplish. The end result of his diligence is a striking image. To truly appreciate the amount of detail, take a few steps back from your monitor and squint your eyes a bit.

6. Sean Freeman

Slick typography, illustration and design work by Sean Freeman, the brains behind THERE IS, a design studio out of the UK. Apparently this guy loves to experiment with out of the ordinary materials, including acrylic paint mixed with hair gel, powder, milk, and smoke. His attention to detail is extremely precise, so it’s no surprise his client list includes names like Nike and VH1… basically he’s killing it.

8. Michael T. Rea

ARTIST STATEMENT
Standing on the shoulders of other people's dreams could perhaps be the most pathetic of all dreams. The intent of my work is to create something short of its outcome. My goal is to create the idea of an object that remains a dream. The objects I create are based on fictions, rather than realities. I have always been interested in the ephemeral worlds established in film, or even in popular culture. Fictions or established hearsay allow for a flawed interpretation, which leads to a flawed result. The sublime is unattainable, and not an option. I further amplify this experience by only using my memory to construct my images. Failure is imminent. I find humor allows me to enjoy this experience, and I in turn build humor into the worlds established by my work. I have chosen to depict these states with unfinished wood, and other materials which convey a sense of the temporal. I find the beauty in life lies in between moments. My work offers a sense of what could be and what could never be simultaneously.
